My Best Bets Basketball Club got the cash again last night, going 2-0 with two more underdog covers-Wisconsin-Milwaukee (+10 ½) in its 60-54 home loss to nationally ranked Wisconsin and Florida Atlantic (+13) in its 75-68 loss at Mississippi State-to push my record to 15-5 over the past 11 days. Hitting 75% winners is near miraculous in a season in which bookmakers are hanging up the hardest numbers in the past 20 years.
This is a college basketball season in which the lazy, the uninformed and those devoted to the past will run out of money before time crosses to 2012. If you fall into any/all of these categories, you probably believe the Butler story would never end, that Notre Dame would always be a meal ticket or that Utah was still a national power.
For the record, Butler, which has played for the national championship the last two seasons, is off to a 4-6 start and stands 0-6-1 against the spread (ATS) while Notre Dame (7-4) is 0-5-1 against the number. With Butler and the Irish we have two teams that are over-rated and being bet on what they have been and not what they are now.
Utah, a long-time power, is in the state of complete collapse, opening the season a disastrous 1-8 while going 2-6 ATS. The Utes won their opening game of the season, beating San Diego Christian, a college with an enrollment of 395, 58-55, and when they take the floor against Idaho State Friday they will be facing their ninth straight loss.
Times change. Coaches leave. New coaches arrive. Players transfer.
While some of the more popular teams have fallen on hard times, at least for those who bet on them, the rise of the Ivy League is somewhat amazing. Harvard is 9-1 and since no one can believe it's real, the Crimson stand 5-1 ATS. Dartmouth is just 2-6 but 3-1-1 ATS.
Handicapping basketball is all about now. It does not matter much what most teams did last year and if one is betting them off that, bankruptcy looms.
I'm winning because I know how to evaluate teams and then put in the time to find the little edges that get it done.
I will be the first to admit I have been performing at a subpar level with my 50-unit Personal Best Club plays but intend to make amends tonight with a knockout play on a college basketball team that is playing at the top of its game and is playing under the perfect circumstances to get the money in dominating fashion. The figures say this modest favorite will rock 'n roll tonight and get it done. Join me in the winner's circle for this 50-unit play for just $50, charged to your major credit card.
My Best Bets Basketball Club knocked down two more college basketball winners last night-both of them underdogs-to push its record to 15-5 with its past 20 releases. Getting the job done last night were Wisconsin-Milwaukee (+10 ½) with its cover in a 60-54 lost to nationally-ranked Wisconsin (a 10-unit play) and with Florida Atlantic (+13) in its 5-unit cover in a 75-68 loss at Mississippi State. That is 75% winners and the winning continues tonight with two more standout releases, highlighted by another 10-unit knockout play that should easily cover the number. Get this 10-unit winner, plus another solid 5-unit play, for just $15, charged to your major credit card. Better yet, get on board for the entire college and NBA seasons for just $229. Again, all major credit cards accepted. For the record, here are the games in the 15-5 run.
