THE NFL WEEK 11 UPDATE:

SOME OF WHAT’S ON TAP FOR SUNDAY

IN THE LEAGUE WHERE THEY PLAY FOR PAY

Here’s hoping that Sunday’s NFL Week 11 action can steer clear of helmet-swinging mad men … hey, there’s far too much importance on these games to go crazy, right?

Okay, so we won’t be seeing Cleveland Browns’ DE Myles Garrett till 2020 (or maybe later) but the fact of the matter is defense figures to take center stage in a few tilts on this third Sunday in November. We’ll get ‘ya hot-shot quickie previews in a sec, but first this important reminder:

Jim Hurley and his Network of Handicappers and Bloggers banged out plenty of winners last week/weekend and now we’re ready to roar with lots more gridiron goodies as NFL Week 11 rolls on … and note there’s College Football winners plus all the NBA and College Basketball too so call us at our toll-free telephone # of 1-800-323-4453 or get the winners right here online at www.jimhurley.com and just pile up the profits.

In Sunday’s NFL Week 11 action, it’s …

HOUSTON (6-3) at BALTIMORE (7-2) – 1 p.m. ET, CBS

One spread stat that we gotta tell you – and thanks to a buddy in the wagering world – and that’s NFL teams are 0-6 against the odds in the game following their bye week after just having played in Europe. Hmm, so does not portend doom-and-gloom for the visiting Houston Texans here?

One thing the Texans have going for ‘em is QB Deshaun Watson (2,432 yards passing with 18 TDs and 5 INTs) is healthier than he’s been in weeks.

Spread Stat – Here’s a fact: The Ravens are a miserable 6-13-1 versus the vig as betting favorite since late in the 2017 campaign (that’s a lowly .316 winning percentage, folks).

NEW ENGLAND (8-1) at PHILADELPHIA (5-4) – 4:25 p.m. ET, CBS

Folks, you gotta go all the way back to December 23, 2018 to find the last time the New England Patriots were coming off a SU (straight-up) loss and – truth be told – the Pats failed to cover that post-loss tilt (see 24-12 against the 14-point underdog Buffalo Bills).

No doubt Bill Belichick’s crew – sporting the league’s top defense (allowing just 249.3 ypg) – will challenge Philly QB Carson Wentz to beat this star-studded secondary and so maybe the game plan for the home underdog Birds is draws, screens and quick-hitters runs. P.S., there’s some kicking problems on the Pats these days and that could rear its ugly head here.

Spread Stat – Believe it or not, the NE Patriots are 30-12-2 ATS (against the spread) when playing teams outside the AFC East the past three-plus seasons (that’s a dizzying .714 winning rate).

On Sunday Night, it’s …

CHICAGO (4-5) at LOS ANGELES RAMS (5-4) – 8:20 p.m. ET, NBC

No kidding: Everything we’ve read or heard about this Bears-Rams matchup swears this prime-time tilt is gonna go “under” the price tag of 40 points … hmmm. Sure, the Bears have been held to 21 points or less on seven different occasions this year; the Rams – with a real slip-shod offensive line these days – have exceeded the 30-point mark twice this year and remember last Super Bowl season this NFC West crew exceeded the 30-point mark a whopping 11 times!

Spread Stat – The Rams have covered 10 of their last 14 overall games while dating back to late 2018.

NOTE: Go ahead and catch our NFL Monday Night Football preview – that’s the Kansas City Chiefs at the Los Angeles Chargers in Mexico City – in the next edition of Jim Sez.
