Okay, so everyone into the pool!

Yes, indeed, each and every one of the Associated Press Top 25 college football teams is in action during this jam-packed Labor Day weekend - last night #21 UCF obliterated UConn 56-17 behind five TD passes by QB McKenzie Milton to ick-start the whole dang holiday -- and you better believe there are lots of other ranked teams out there looking to "make a statement" and scale their way up the charts ... we're thinking #9 Auburn (vs. #6 Washington) and #14 Michigan (at #12 Notre Dame), first and foremost, folks.

Get outside the Top 25 and there's surely the possibilities of "upset alerts" too as 10-point pup Northern Illinois is dreaming of KO'ing the Iowa Hawkeyes and what about little Middle Tennessee State as the Blue Raiders are "only" a 3-point road underdog at in-state rival Vanderbilt? Hmmm.

Last night Jim Hurley's Network struck up a winning tune with Northwestern (-1) besting Purdue 31-27 - don't ask us why the 'Cats flip-flopped their quarterbacks so much (we don't want to hear about "pitch counts" in week one, ok?) but a silly Purdue penalty at the end helped N'western secure an important Big 10 road win ... and a great way for us to start off this 2018 college football campaign. We wouls up 3-0 on the day winning with Tulane (+7) over Wake Forest 17-23, and our Pre-Season finale' with the Patriots over the Giants!

In any event, there will surely be some shockers on this first full weekend of NCAA Football action but the $64,000 question is will you be on the winning end of one (or more) of 'em? Here's what you need to know this three-day weekend:

Jim Hurley and his Network of Handicappers and Bloggers will bash the books this College Football weekend as this menu features Six (6) games on this Friday night, then it's a veritable gridiron party on Saturday with 32 big games and then it's the Sunday night tilt between #8 Miami at #25 LSU followed by the Labor Day evening game in Tallahassee between #20 Virginia Tech at #19 Florida State ... and don't forget that Jim keeps piling up lots of profits every day with Major-League Baseball winners too. So go ahead and get all the NCAA Football / MLB winners right here online or at 1-800-323-4453. P.S., the 2018 NFL season swings into high gear on Thursday night as the Atlanta Falcons are at the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles and we plan on having loads of Week 1 winners.

Tonight, it's ...

Okay, so the Stanford Cardinal has been to nine straight bowl games and there's whispers that David Shaw's current club could make the big leap into the FBS playoffs but Heisman Trophy candidate RB Bryce Love (2,118 and 19 TDs last year) better stay healthy after struggling with a bad ankle for the final weeks of the 2017 season. If two-TD dog San Diego State is gonna hang tough here, then RB Juwan Washington must gobble up yards / clock behind an offensive line that brings back all five starters. Hey, it's revenge for Stanford - a 20-17 loser at San Diego State last season.
Spread Stats - Stanford is a subpar 8-11-1 ATS (against the spread) as betting favorites the past two years while the SDSU Aztecs have covered seven of their last nine games as underdog sides.

On Saturday, it's ...

#6 WASHINGTON vs. #9 AUBURN (at Atlanta) - 3:30 p.m. ET, ABC
No buts about it, this is the best (on paper) intersectional matchup of the holiday weekend but we're scratching our heads as to why so many folks are claiming it's gonna be a "defensive battle" and yet the totals price here is 48.5 points (and it opened at 54 points) ... sure, there's plenty of star power on "D" on both sides here but the UW Huskies sport veteran QB Jake Browning (68.5 percent passer last year with 19 TD flings) and do-it-all RB Myles Gaskin (1,380 yards rushing and a mind-blowing 21 TDs) while last year War Eagle scored 40-plus points in eight different games and now QB Jarrett Stidham (3,158 passing yards and 18 TDs) is being mentioned on everyone's Heisman list.
Spread Stats - Washington's a modest 27-23 vig-wise under fifth-year head coach Chris Petersen and that includes last year's lackluster 6-6 ATS log. On the flip side, Auburn is a crummy 2-6 spreadwise in season-opening games the past eight years.

#14 MICHIGAN at #12 NOTRE DAME - 7:30 p.m. ET, NBC
It's "must-see" TV on this first day of September as these long-time Midwest rivals - finally - renew acquaintances following a little three-year hiatus and wish we had a nickel for every TV talking head / internet scribe that claims this is a "must-win" game for both programs. Okay, so it's not but the reality is Michigan really has not enjoyed too many (if any at all) signature wins for fourth-year head coach Jim Harbaugh while Notre Dame really has played in only two meaningful bowl games under ninth-year boss Brian Kelly. Now that the Irish HC says Brandon Wimbush is his man at quarterback we shall see if he can move the chains against a staunch Wolverines' defense that last year ranked third nationally in yards allowed.
Spread Stats - Note that Notre Dame's just 24-23-4 ATS as hosts during the Kelly Era that began back in 2010; Michigan is a rather sluggish 8-9-1 ATS away under the aforementioned Mr. Harbaugh. In case you were wondering, home teams have notched spread wins in six of the last seven showdowns.
