Thursday Night Preseason Kickoff
12 Games in Action

Thursday really kicks of the first full weekend of preseason action, and what a good card it is! We have last year's Super Bowl teams kicking off their seasons, with Philadelphia hosting Pittsburgh and New England hosting Washington. There's Florida rivalry action between the Buccaneers and Dolphins, plus Panthers-Bills, Bears-Bengals, and TV action between Browns and Giants and Cowboys at 49'ers on the NFL Network.

Thursday night we have a rivalry game and two AFC-NFC scores for just $10. These games rate high enough to build your August bankroll, just like I did last Thursday with my HOF Game winner with the UNDER, and you'll get them all for just $10.

NFL PRESEASON WEEK 1
HERE'S OUR QUICK-HITTER PREVIEWS ON TONIGHT'S DOZEN GAMES

The heat may be on full blast throughout the U.S.A. but there's no foolin' the calendar … it's Football Season!
The National Football League served up a little appetizer last week with a Hall of Fame Game clash between the Baltimore Ravens and the Chicago Bears but now the Preseason has arrived for good with a full slate of games and we'll preview the dozen showdowns on the Thursday night calendar in just a moment but first this key reminder …

Jim Hurley and his Network of Handicappers and Bloggers will be striking up a big-time winning NFL preseason this month and it all started with last Thursday night's "under" winner in Baltimore's 17-16 non-cover win against Chicago in the annual Hall of Fame Game. Jim's clients cashed as the game went "under" 35 points and there's lots more winners straight ahead. Plus, don't forget that Jim Hurley keeps piling up the profits with Major-League Baseball – get all the MLB winners and all the NFL Preseason winners online or 1-800-323-4453. Remember: There's a full card of NFL Preseason games this Thursday-thru-Saturday.

CAROLINA at BUFFALO - 7 p.m. ET
The left side of the Bills' offensive line has an "under construction" sign out front and so let's see if the visitors show some blitzes here and won't it be interesting if Buffalo rookie QB Josh Allen has to face some incoming LBs/DBs? Meanwhile, Carolina head coach Ron Rivera hinted that second-year RB Christian McCaffrey will play only one series here after missing practice time the past few days due to an illness.
Current Line: Bills - 3 and 34 points

CHICAGO (0-1) at CINCINNATI - 7 p.m. ET
Gotta feeling that the Bengals -- who happened to rank dead last in the league in total offense last year -- will allow starters more time than usual in this summer's Preseason games but taking a look at new #2 QB Matt Barkley will be important here against a Bears' bunch still missing rookie LB Roquan Smith … can you please sign the contract already! Note the Chitowners say second-year QB Mitchell Trubisky will play a series or two here after sitting out the aforementioned Hall of Fame Game - Chase Daniel and Tyler Bray will follow his lead.
Current Line: Bengals - 2 and 35.5 points

TAMPA BAY at MIAMI - 7 p.m. ET
The Buccaneers say that ancient QB Ryan Fitzpatrick - who is penciled in to be the team's starter in the first three regular-season games while Jameis Winston sits out his suspension - will start here even though the Tampa Bay O-line is fraught with injuries. Good move or bad move by head coach Kirk Koetter here? If you're looking for a story developing in Dolphins' camp, then let's see who "wins" the starting running back battle as Frank Gore and Kenyan Drake are listed as "co-starters" but we'll be surprised if either plays more than a single series here.
Current Line: Dolphins - 1.5 and 34 points

CLEVELAND at NEW YORK GIANTS - 7 p.m. ET, NFL Network
We promise not to say a single word here regarding Giants' WR Odell Beckham, Jr. (except for the fact he won't play here) but it is worth mentioning that the G-men have some major injury woes in the secondary where there's a major microscope on CB Eli Apple who was a major distraction last year an even was tossed off the field following a fracas with TE Evan Engram the other day. The Browns - the HBO Hard Knocks subject this month - are planning to let numero uno draft pick QB Baker Mayfield play two quarters (or more!) here but Cleveland must sort through its pass-catching list especially after the earlier-week trade of WR Corey Coleman to Buffalo.
Current Line: Browns - 1 and 35 points

PITTSBURGH at PHILADELPHIA - 7 p.m. ET
We won't be seeing Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles at quarterback for the Eagles here as muscle spasms in his neck has kayoed 'em for this Keystone State clash while Steelers' slinger Ben Roethlisberger will sit out while Landry Jones starts at quarterback followed by Josh Dobbs and rookie Mason Rudolph (Oklahoma State) but wondering who's gonna catch the Pittsburgh passes with WRs Antonio Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster both hurting. P.S., late news coming from Eagles' camp is that QB Carson Wentz (knee) might not play a single down in preseason, so get ready for a whole lot of Nate Sudfeld.
Current Line: Eagles - 3 and 33 points

NEW ORLEANS at JACKSONVILLE - 7 p.m. ET
In case you were wondering, the N'Orleans Saints say Mantei Te'o is the team's starting middle linebacker while former MLB A.J. Klein is now the starting strongside linebacker - last year Te'o backed up Klein who insiders say may lose his grip on a starting job altogether if Demario Davis plays well this summer. If you're thinking Jaguars' defense, then check out the team's depth at cornerback where Pro Bowler Jalen Ramsey will play sparingly here (he missed a handful of practices due to the birth of his daughter) and so that means former Oakland Raiders' draftee D.J. Hayden gets to show his stuff - the 2013 first-round draftee of the silver and black inked a three-year, $19 million deal with this AFC South club in mid-March.
Current Line: Jacksonville - 2.5 and 34.5 points

LOS ANGELES RAMS at BALTIMORE (1-0) - 7:30 p.m. ET
Maybe the best thing about the Ravens' non-cover/one-point win against the Bears last Thursday in the above-mentioned H.O.F. Game is that it's become clear that nobody - not Robert Griffin III nor new hot-shot rookie Lamar Jackson - is gonna knock veteran slinger Joe Flacco out of his top perch just yet. Now, Flacco is expected to play in a couple of series this evening against a Rams' defense still missing unsigned DT Aaron Donald (so what else is new?) while the Rams leaked out word that third-year QB Jared Goff won't play here and so that means head ball coach Sean McVay will check out Sean Mannion, Brandon Allen and Luis Perez - so that's one reason why this Las Vegas price tag moved in Baltimore's favor.
Current Line: Ravens - 3 and 36 points

WASHINGTON at NEW ENGLAND - 7:30 p.m. ET
Anyone hoping to get a full-scale look at new Redskins' QB Alex Smith better sit tight - word is he's only gonna a series or so while Colt McCoy piles up the reps here but you might see plenty of Washington rookie RB Derrius Guice who is looking to bolster a ground game that last year ranked a lowly 27th in the NFL. On the flip side, the Patriots - who opened as a 4.5-point choice here - will be checking out their current running back stable that includes Ralph Webb (Vanderbilt) who'll see lots of time with Georgia rookie RB Sony Michel sidelined (knee) and vet Rex Burkhead sporting an "undisclosed" injury.
Current Line: Patriots - 3 and 37.5 points

TENNESSEE at GREEN BAY - 8 p.m. ET
Now that Packers' Hall-of-Fame to-be QB Aaron Rodgers has gone on record to call the effort of his club's young wide receivers "piss poor" we shall see what the kids can do with the spotlight on 'em here … Notre Dame rookie WR Equanimeous St. Brown was one of the chaps that Rodgers referred to following Tuesday's practice but will it be his fault if erratic arms QB Brett Hundley and DeShone Kizer can't get the ball to him and his friends? P.S., the Titans say QB Marcus Mariota will start here but many of his likely star receivers (see Rishard Matthews and Corey Davis) won't be in the lineup thanks to injuries/ailments.
Current Line: Pick 'Em and 34.5 points

HOUSTON at KANSAS CITY - 8:30 p.m. ET
There are plenty of quarterback storylines throughout the NFL this year with new/old faces in new places but maybe the most excitement has revolved 'round KC slinger Patrick Mahomes who steps into the big shoes left behind by the above-mentioned Alex Smith: The news is that Mahomes will play the first quarter and then three other quarterbacks will play one quarter apiece. One Texans' defender that won't be chasing around is Mahomes is LB Whitney Mercilus who's been held out of practice this week after he suffered a season-ending pec muscle last year.

DALLAS at SAN FRANCISCO - 10 p.m. ET, NFL Network
The game plan for Niners' QB Jimmy Garoppolo is to get in for a series here and then expand to a quarter-plus for preseason game #2 - but will "Jimmy G" be hooking up often with WR Aldrick Robinson who has been a favorite target so far in summer camp. The twosome combined on 70- and 26-yard scoring strikes Tuesday's practice and note that long TD travelled in the air some 50-plus yards. Yowie! From the Cowboys' standpoint, the grand plan of having WR Terrance Williams start opposite wide-out Allen Hurns could be dashed - at least here for this preseason opener what with Williams slowed by a bad foot.
Current Line: 49ers - 3.5 and 35 points

INDIANAPOLIS at SEATTLE - 10 p.m. ET
In case you lost count, Indy QB Andrew Luck will play in a game here for the first time in some 585 days and from the sound of things new head coach Frank Reich could keep Luck in the game for the better part of the first half. No doubt there's some rust to be shaken off but reports are Luck's looked fabulous in camp save for a badly underthrown pick in Tuesday's drills … might the Colts be an underrated item come September? One thing on these host Seahawks: They finished a dismal 18th versus the rush last year and now sport a completely reshaped D-line lineup that includes DT Jarran Reed who is needed to play huge now in his third season in Seattle.
Current Line: Seahawks - 2 and 35 points
