Okay, pro football fans, just how much is New England Patriots' QB Tom Brady "worth" in terms of the all-important Las Vegas pointspread?
Believe it or not, we say Brady is worth 5 points to this here-and-now betting line ... in other words, this February 4th Super Bowl LII game would be a Pick 'Em if just an average NFL quarterback was playing for the Pats and not Brady.
In case you were wondering, among Brady's career Super Bowl records are 207 pass completions in 309 pass attempts (a dazzling .670 completion percentage rate) for 2,071 yards thru the air and that's in seven previous Super Bowl showings. P.S., Brady has 15 career touchdown passes in Super Bowl history (yes, another SB record) and - of course - he owns four Super Bowl Most Valuable Player awards happening in SBs 36, 38, 49 and 51. So far through post-season home wins this year against Tennessee and then Jacksonville, Mr. Brady has completed 61-of-91 passes for 627 yards and he's thrown 5 TDs and 0 INTs.
No knock on Philadelphia QB Nick Foles - heck, he's been absolutely brilliant this post-season in home upset wins against Atlanta and Minnesota while completing 49-of-63 passes for 598 yards with 3 TDs and 0 INTs -- but in-the-know folks say Brady is worth 5 points more at his position than Foles (and that might be a modest price tag) which tells you that everywhere else on the field for Super Bowl 52 the teams are rated dead-even.
In fact, you could raise an eyebrow or two when considering the Eagles were 2.5-point home pups against the Falcons in Philly's 15-10 win in the NFC Divisional Playoff round and then 3-point home dogs in the ensuing 38-7 victory lap win against the Vikings in the NFC Championship Game.

COLLEGE ROUNDBALL REPORT
It's always fun to check out how the major college basketball conferences/leagues are doing when compared to one another - and we always check in to see the Jeff Sagarin Ratings from USA Today simply because he is a master numbers-cruncher in the sport.
Sagarin says these days the Big 12 is the best league in the land - his most recent ratings have 'em rated at 85.76 followed by the ACC (83.50), the Big East (83.49), the SEC (82.60), the Big 10 (80.78), the Pac-12 (78.77), the American (77.26) and the Mountain West (76.36) just to give you his top eight conferences.
We're gonna beg to differ right at the top:
Folks, the Big 10 - yes, often a maligned league come NCAA Tournament time in recent years - is our numero uno conference right here/right now thanks in large part to the fact we have Purdue and Michigan State ranked in our top four plus we consider both Ohio State and Michigan to be top 20 teams at the moment.
Throw in the fact that Maryland, Northwestern, Penn State and Minnesota are all - give or take - top 50 teams in the land and we've come up with the Big 10 as our best of the bunch as we head into the final weekend in January.
Here's how we rank the rest:
We'll place the Big 12 in second place among the top five leagues in the land - what we really like is we believe there's six teams that are among the top 25 teams in the country (we're including Baylor to go along with Kansas, West Virginia, Oklahoma, TCU and Texas Tech) ...
Third place among hoop conferences would be the underrated Big East (okay, so Sagarin only had 'em .01 behind ACC for third) but the bottom line is both Xavier and Creighton could be in your top six or seven teams and we have not even addressed #1 team in the land Villanova ...
The ACC and then the SEC would round out our Jim Sez Top 5 conferences - thus the likes of the overrated Pac-12 (we believe one or two of the minor conferences could bump out the Pac-12 in the ratings as we're thinking the American and the Mountain West) and so there you have it.
Gut feeling is right now the Big 10 could get as many as nine teams into the 68-team NCAA Tournament field and so we'll rank this conference as the best of the bunch ... for now.
