We know it ... hoops hysteria has taken hold all 'round the good U.S.A. and we're just getting into this March weekend when a slew of power conferences will crown their mini-tourney champs and, to top things off, we'll all view the Selection Show at 5:30 p.m. ET on CBS (yes, a two-hour bash!).

So, please forgive us for getting all hot-and-bothered at this time of the year ... but can you imagine what many of the NCAA Tournament teams-to-be and NCAA Tournament wanna-be teams are going through right around now?

We'll get to some pertinent goodies in just a moment but first remember that Jim Hurley and his Network of Handicappers and Bloggers will keep steamrolling their way through March with loads of College Basketball Mini-Tourney winners and take special note that The Network March Madness Package includes all of the Conference Tournament Games along with all the upcoming NCAA Tournament Games plus all the other post-season tournaments such as the NIT, CBI and CIT Tournies too. Get it either right here online or at our exclusive toll-free telephone # of 1-800-323-4453 - plus don't forget we're banging out lots of NBA Winners too these days and so go ahead and join the fun and profits today with all the hardwood action this month.

It's our weekly segment as we look at how the Top 4 seeds in each region of the NCAA Tournament would be if we were in control of the process and so let's get you our up-to-the-minute opinion. Note that we're also including the Sweet 16/Elite 8 sites for each of the four regions:

EAST - at Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia (PA)
Villanova, Oklahoma, Utah and Purdue
The #5 Seed - Notre Dame
Comment: The thinking all along is that the Villanova Wildcats would be landing the numero uno seed in the East based on the fact these Sweet 16 and Elite 8 games will be played in Philly and keep in mind the Wildcats did play three regular-season games here this year. However, we've made some changes to the other clubs in this bracket with one-time #1 team in the nation Oklahoma getting fit in here and we've jetted the Utah Utes across the country which is bound to garner complaints. Would love to see a couple of fun matchups in the Round of 32 games this weekend such as potential tilts between Purdue versus Notre Dame and possibly aforementioned Oklahoma against possible 7th seed San Diego State.

MIDWEST - at United Center, Chicago (IL)
Kansas, Oregon, Texas A&M and Miami

The #5 Seed -- Iowa State
Comment: Don't know if the NCAA Tournament Committee folks are gonna "blow it" and stack the region against the Kansas Jayhawks - the team that should be the #1 seed in this whole tourney even if they happen to lose in this weekend's Big 12 Championship Game! The truth is Bill Self's guys deserve the highest praise for their "body of work" but keeping them away from any/all rivals in this league is tough because you do have to spread out seven Big 12 teams and we believe six of 'em deserve to be #1-thru-#5 seeds in this tourney. We're hoping the committee puts Iona or even Monmouth in as a #13 seed and a potential tilt against Miami and would also welcome a middle-of-the-country #8-vs.#9 game that could, say, pit Michigan vs. Wichita State.

SOUTH - at KFC Yum Center, Louisville (KY)
Virginia, Xavier, Kentucky and Maryland

The #5 Seed - Texas
Comment: Gotta say that we're putting Virginia as #1 in this region based on winning this ongoing ACC Tournament but they'll switch spots with North Carolina if the Tar Heels cut down the nets in D.C. this Saturday night. Otherwise, we've rounded out the top four seeds in this South Region with lots of love going to Xavier which entered this week's Big East Tournament winners of nine of its last 11 games since late January and with Kentucky having inched up our seed boards with a late-year thrust. If there's one possible #3 versus #14 matchup that could have us intrigued it'd be John Calipari's UK Wildcats against Long Island power Stony Brook. Also, would not mind seeing a possible #8 vs. #9 game pitting Providence against Vanderbilt.

WEST - at Honda Center, Anaheim (CA)
Michigan State, North Carolina, Arizona and West Virginia

The #5 Seed -- California
Comment: As we stated in one of last week's Jim Sez columns, no doubt that "Sparty" will snag a #1 regional seed if it wins the Big 10 Tournament this weekend and there is the shot that Tom Izzo's squad will be this tourney's #1 overall seed if things fall just right. Otherwise, we'll repeat the notion that either Virginia or North Carolina winds up here (we say the ACC Tournament final loser if they face each other) and don't sleep on this California club that could slip into a top four seed with a sizzling weekend in Las Vegas and some slip-ups in other locales. Hey, now that we know Gonzaga is back in the tourney for the 18th straight year, we'd love to see the committee give 'em a #7 seed and have the Zags battle #10 Ole Miss. One thing we like to stay away from are those non-power teams facing each other in so-called second-round play (in other words, don't give us Gonzaga vs. Northern Iowa as we like to see those mid-majors play the "big boys" from the SEC, Pac-12, ACC or Big 12).

NOTE: We'll delve into the NCAA Tournament Committee's mind on the whole field in tomorrow's edition of Jim Sez.
