It’s been an active morning in Las Vegas with sharps (professional wagerers) making investments in both NBA playoff games from the Western Conference and all over the Interleague slate in baseball. Let’s review what the sharps have been thinking on this Super Saturday of sports action.

SAN ANTONIO AT LA CLIPPERS

Sharps have embraced the Under here, with an opener of 194 dropping down to 191.5. The first two games saw a lot of three-pointers being made. We’re hearing that sharps are expecting both teams to cool off from long range. Plus, there’s also an NBA tendency for day games to lack pace when teams are used to playing mostly night games. All told, a slower game with fewer made treys is the expectation from sharps according to our research.

On the team side, there’s been some support for San Antonio at -5, with many stores now sitting at -5.5. But, given how officials smiled on teams in must-win spots Friday, some sharps we’ve talked to are hesitant about backing the Spurs here.

OKLAHOMA CITY AT LA LAKERS

The Lakers closed as a 3-point favorite in Friday Night’s game, which ended up being a push at that final number. In tonight’s back-to-backer, Oklahoma City is a 1-point favorite…with the market assuming a bounce back performance for the younger team. Also, Kobe Bryant’s probably not going to be allowed to park himself at the free throw line all night or that would arouse more suspicions than are already being voiced by the national media! Sharps are getting early respect, but the Lakers would get sharp support from what we here were the line to go to Lakers +2 or higher.

INTERLEAGUE BASEBALL

We’re not going to run through every single game. We wanted you to be aware that sharps are generally moving on American League teams today after watching the AL go 9-5 in Friday action. Note that six of those nine wins came on the ROAD, which suggests strength for the AL this weekend. Obviously, with St. Louis and the Los Angeles Dodgers playing each other (two of the top three NL teams), the deck was stacked in favor of the AL to begin with.

Here are the AL teams that have been getting sharp support on the openers:

*Toronto opened at -200, but is up to anything from -220 to -240 at home against the New York Mets

*Oakland opened as a +140 underdog at San Francisco, but is now down to +115 or +120 in most places we’ve surveyed.

*Tampa Bay opened at pick-em vs. Atlanta but is now -120 in some spots, and we’re hearing there may be more support for the Rays in the hours before first pitch.

*Baltimore was an underdog at Washington on the opener. That game looks to be pick-em in most places now. The sharps are starting to believe in the Orioles!

*The Chicago White Sox opened at +140 or +145 against the Chicago Cubs, but are now down to +120. That’s two big dog moves in that range counting the A’s.

*Kansas opened as a small underdog at home against Arizona, but that game is now pick-em.

*The Los Angeles Angels opened at -140 on the road against a truly awful San Diego team, and has been bet up to -155.

To this point, the two biggest favorite moves on the day were Toronto and the LA Angels. The two biggest dog moves have been Oakland and the Chicago White Sox. We’ve seen some yo-yoing in other games…but there’s clearly been more sentiment for AL sides.

In terms of totals:

Sharps hit the OVERS in NYM/Toronto, Oakland/San Francisco, Minnesota/Milwaukee, and Arizona/Kansas City.

Sharps hit the UNDERS in Cincinnati/NYY, Seattle/Colorado, Atlanta/Tampa Bay, and Boston/Philadelphia.

We told you sharps had been busy! And, that’s not even counting the Preakness…where sharps are trying to squeeze out value within a small sampling of favorites.
