The NBA returns from its All-Star Break this week, amidst a season of turmoil that is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before in any sport. Sure, sometimes a few teams are less than emphatic about trying to win because they’re worried about draft position. But, the mess we have this season in the NBA is something else.

*You have bad teams who aren’t trying

*You have bad teams who are trying but can’t play consistently well anyway

*You have teams who were supposed to be good who turned out bad

*You have teams who were supposed to be bad that turned out good

I know a lot of old-school bettors here in Las Vegas who gave up on the NBA long ago. They couldn’t watch the games. They questioned the night-to-night motivation of millionaire players who seemed more focused on living the high life rather than winning championships. (By the way, some of that high life was happening right here in Las Vegas, so those old-schoolers had firsthand knowledge!). This year, those old-schoolers are laughing at anyone trying to pick the NBA.

Well, let me tell you something as the Dean of Sports Handicapping, money can be made in any field as long as you apply proven principals of success. Those of you who regularly attend my College of Advanced Sports Betting and Handicapping should be looking FORWARD to the rest of the NBA season because great opportunities await.

Why is that?

*Oddsmakers have to put a number on every game. You can pass as many as you want, only betting when you see a clear edge. This is a tremendous advantage all the time anyway. It becomes even bigger whenever results are this erratic. If oddsmakers are in a position of weakness, by default…smart sports bettors are in a position of strength. A few guys behind the line this season have told me that the NBA is giving them migraines. Good!

*The best teams…those who are focused on making the playoffs and trying to win a championship…historically lift their games after the All-Star Break. It’s not the midway point of the season in this sport. We’re much more than halfway through. NOW is when the cream rises. The cream is going to be rising in a sport where many teams are intentionally sinking. There’s no way that oddsmakers will consistently put the right numbers on those games. And, because they’re so focused on college hoops right now…oddsmakers are going to be slow to act on a few of the teams that step up their pace.

*Some of the lesser teams who have been treading water because they didn’t want to lose too obviously are about to get serious about losing! We’ve never seen the likes of something this widespread. But, the NBA draft is likely to be so rich in incoming talent this year that even getting into the bottom 10 is worth the effort. Why get embarrassed in the first round of the playoffs before getting a mid-round draft pick when you can sink back…avoid the embarrassment…and add a cheap star to your team? That’s the mindset of more franchises than ever right now. Oddsmakers have little experience pricing self-inflicted “crash and burn” scenarios.

I’m not going to get specific about which teams I expect to surge or sink because I need to protect that information for my paying clients. My College of Advanced Sports Betting and Handicapping is designed to provide do-it-yourselfers for the tools needed to win. I’ve alerted you to an opportunity that’s ripe for the plucking in pro basketball. If you’d like some help finding specific plays every night, you can purchase my BEST BETS here at this very website with your major credit card.

The bulk of my personal slate will still be in the colleges (because the schedules are so much bigger). Only the very best NBA options will break through for inclusion. That means they deserve serious attention!

If you have any questions about long term packages that take you through March Madness or the NBA Playoffs, talk to one of my representatives in the Vegas-Sports-Masters home office at 1-888-777-4155.

I’ll be back again with you next week to talk more basketball. We’re likely to double up on the coursework as we approach the tournaments and all the betting opportunities inherent in March Madness. Thanks very much for your continued hard work. It’s gratifying to know that so many of you have turned around your personal handicapping and sports betting struggles by applying the principals you’ve learned on these pages. See you again next time.
