Here we stand-heading into the 16th week of the National Football League season with the playoff picture not even close to complete, beginning the always-challenging 35-game bowl season and faced with a major re-evaluation of college and NBA basketball teams. This is one handicapper who will be working overtime to keep the winners coming in as I did last week.
- I won my 100-unit special late-information play as the Kansas City Chiefs (-6.5, up from -3.5) rolled into Oakland and buried the Raiders, 56-31.
- I won my 100-unit College Basketball Revenge Game of the year-my first 100-unit play of the season-as Wichita State (-6) knocked off Tennessee, 70-61.
- I won a 50-unit play Thursday night on the San Diego Chargers (+10.5) as they upset Denver, 27-20.
- I won my 50-unit NBA Game of the Week Tuesday night as the Indiana Pacers (-3) knocked off the Miami Heat, 90-84.
- I won a 25-unit play Monday night on the Chicago Bears (-1.5) who blew away the visiting Dallas Cowboys, 45-28.
- I closed out the regular college season with a 25-unit play on Navy (-13.5) with its 34-7 win over Army.
Just in case one thinks I only win the big games, please note my Best Bets Football Investment Club went 3-1 last week and my Best Bets Basketball Investment Club closed out the week on a 5-1 run over the past four days.
And you can take it to the bank that the winning will continue.
100-Unit Play Launches Bowl Season Saturday
It was my original plan to release one of Saturday's bowl games at either the 50-unit or 25-unit level but better analysis revealed a team that graded out with better than a 95% chance to cover the number and that made it an automatic 100-unit game.
Meantime Florida State (13-0) remains a solid 8.5/9.0-point favorite over Auburn (12-1). A word to the wise-be careful with this one.
In college basketball, I am coming right back Saturday with another 100-unit play-my 100-unit College Basketball Blowout Game of the Month-and I am expecting a dominating win. As you know, I won my first 100-unit college basketball play of the season this past week as Wichita State (-7) knocked off Tennessee, 70-61. Revenge was sweet and profitable.
No one was more surprised than I when at the last minute-on the basis of late information few had-I released the Kansas City Chiefs (-6.5) over the host Oakland Raiders and got the money, 56-31, in a blowout win. Information that no one has-the kind of information that gives the bettor a giant edge-is difficult to come by and when one gets it, it's time to step up and fire.
This information was so good, so solid, I was tempted to release the game at the 200-unit level but held off on that because I did not have the required time to evaluate the game in the in-depth manner than can give one confidence. The move on Kansas City was based on information (my secret as to what it was because I do not want to betray my source) and information alone, with no handicapping involved. That was simply how strong it was and it was right.
This Sunday I am coming right back again with my 100-unit NFL Blowout Game of the Month and I am confident I will again get the money.
That means there will be at least three 100-unit plays this weekend and I can guarantee you do not want to miss any of them.
Bowl Records By College Conferences The Past 2 Seasons
One of the most difficult challenges of handicapping college bowl games is the fact we are faced with the situation of mixing apples and oranges, i.e. teams from different conferences that are basic strangers to one another. Since it is help to know how teams from various conferences fare in the bowl season, here are their records for the past two years.
