Weather was a factor in several college games Saturday and will again be in play in several of today's 12 games but few more so than at tonight's Denver Broncos (9-1) at New England Patriots (7-3) where game-time temperatures will be in the 20s and with winds of 25-30 miles per hour predicted throughout the contest the wind chill factor will be below zero. At least no snow is in the forecast.

Denver remains a solid 2.5-point favorite, with a total of 53.5, down from 55.5. Kickoff is set for 8:35 Eastern time for one of the most interesting games (NBC) of the season. Weather be damned, I am releasing this game as my 100-Unit NFL Sunday Night Game of The Year and I am extremely confident I will get the money.

This game, along with all other NFL and Sunday basketball plays, are available on this site and toll free at 1-888-777-4155.

Speaking of the weather and its impact on the outcome of games, the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants will meet in Met Life Stadium, site of the Super Bowl, in East Rutherford, NJ, and the game will be played in bitter cold with 20 mile per hour winds throughout

The Super Bowl is to be played at Met Life Sunday, February 2, at a time winter weather usually is at its worst in the New York City area. NFL officials - fools that they are - are currently embracing the idea of snow for the game. They say that would just set the perfect stage for the first Super Bowl played for many years in a cold-weather climate.

What am I missing here?

The Farmers' Almanac predicts a huge winter storm will hit the area on the weekend of the game but the NFL suits say the 78,000 fans will love the idea. I guess there is no one left in the league's front office who ever froze his ass off at Baltimore's Memorial Stadium watching the Colts play the Bears in the winter.

NFL Betting Information For Today

  • In the last three meetings between Denver and New England in Foxborough, the host Patriots have outscored the Broncos117-54.

  • Dallas is 13-6-1 against the spread (ATS) in its last 20 games with the New York Giants and has gone 7-1 ATS in its last eight games coming off a bye week. The Giants are 4-13 in November since 2009.

  • The last four games between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns have seen 34 or less points scored

  • A win by the Kansas City Chiefs today would make Coach Andy Reid the 21st NFL coach to win 150 games.

  • The Carolina Panthers, at Miami, are 6-0 straight up (SU) and 6-0 ATS in their last six games.

For the record, as of 7:00 a.m. this morning in Las Vegas, there had not been one single NFL steam play, although the money has definitely showed for the Tennessee Titans over the Oakland Raiders. Oakland opened a -1.5-point favorite but the number shifted yesterday to Tennessee -1-5, most certainly because starting quarterback Terrelle Pryor remains sidelined with an injury.

Here is a key injury report on skill players for today's games.

  • Green Bay - QB Aaron Rodgers (Collarbone) is downgraded to expected to miss Sunday vs. Minnesota. Former taxi squad QB Scott Tolzein will start in his place. He is 0-2 in his two starts since Rodgers was injured, throwing for a single touchdown and has five interceptions.

  • Chicago - QB Jay Cutler (Ankle) doubtful Sunday vs. St. Louis. Josh McCown, a more than adequate back up will start in his place.

  • Oakland - QB Terrelle Pryor (MCL) is downgraded to doubtful Sunday vs. Tennessee. Undrafted rookie Matt McGloin (Penn State) gets the call. He started in Pryor's place last week and completed 18-of-32 passes for 197 yards and three touchdowns in a 28-23 win at Houston.

  • Denver - WR Wes Welker (Head) is upgraded to probable Sunday vs. New England.
