I had a lousy first week in National Football League pre-season football and for that I apologize. As a handicapper, a winning day is just that while a losing day is a learning experience. That is no consolation to those who have lost money, nor it should be, but it is the bare truth for the analyst. One takes what he learns today and wins with it tomorrow.
Meantime, my baseball services continue to slaughter bookmakers and that takes the sting out of the week as all who subscribe to any football service get the rest of baseball free right through the World Series and the NFL pre-season is also a free bonus.
Football clients have gone 5-0 over the past five days, with these daily 15-unit Best Bets Baseball Investment Club releases:

Lesson One Of Pre-Season
No rule change is without consequences and it is apparent even in the pre-season the new rules limiting the defenses in when, how and how hard players can hit offensive players is having an impact that is certain to carry over to the regular season.
It is matter of record most totals numbers during the pre-season are posted in the neighborhood of 35 points and that has been the case this season. Of the 16 games played through Saturday, the "over" prevailed by an 11-5 margin but even more noteworthy is the fact in 9-of-16 games, an average of 53 points were scored, with the highs being the 16 points scored in Baltimore's 44-16 victory over Tampa Bay and the 53 points scored in New England's 31-22 win over Philadelphia.
The listed total in the Baltimore game was 35 points, while that number was 40.5 in the Patriots game.
This is a factor to be watched each week of the pre-season, because, if it carries over to the regular season it is going to alter totals handicapping.
Lessons, Observations Of Pre-Season
- The defending Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens are not going to be anybody's pushover this season, despite the loss of several key players on defense.
- The voodoo curse that has been the New York Jets constant companion the past two seasons is still present and the team-promoted quarterback controversy has not gone away.
- The Oakland Raiders who were 4-12 last season opened the pre-season with fire in their eyes and if it carries over to the regular season, watch out. The Raiders have the talent and it is my opinion Terrelle Pryor, a 3-year veteran out of Ohio State, will be the starting quarterback. He is looking smooth as silk in practice.
- The Jacksonville Jaguars went 2-14 last season and from what I have seen are on track to do that one more time. This may be worst-run franchise in NFL and that certainly says something.

Thought For The Day
As I was lying around, pondering the problems of the world,
I realized that at my age I don't really give a rat's ass anymore.
.. If walking is good for your health, the postman would be immortal.
.. A whale swims all day, only eats fish, drinks water, but is still fat.
.. A rabbit runs and hops and only lives 15 years, while
.. A tortoise doesn't run and does mostly nothing, yet it lives for 150 years.
And you tell me to exercise?? I don't think so.
Life is Short.....Enjoy it Now!!
