Wisconsin and Indiana sure lived up to its billing Tuesday Night, with the Badgers scoring a big shocker over the #2 Hoosiers in Bloomington. Thursday Night, we have another Big Ten Clash of the Titans when #5 Michigan visits #9 Minnesota in a game that will be nationally televised by ESPN2

You just saw the AP rankings. Let’s see how the most nationally respected mainstream computer ratings have these teams pegged.

Michigan: 5 in Sagarin, 5 in Pomeroy

Minnesota: 6 in Sagarin, 7 in Pomeroy

Virtual agreement there, with a pair of teams who are currently seen as Elite Eight caliber with legitimate Final Four potential. The stage is set in the coming days for many marquee matchups like this in the Big Ten and across the full college landscape. College football has ended, and college basketball is ready to take center stage.

If you’re a hoops fan, you’ll be spending a lot of time with the surging Big Ten this season. After Tuesday’s stunner, here’s how the “big six” in the Big Ten rated in the computers…

Michigan: 5 in Sagarin, 5 in Pomeroy

Minnesota: 6 in Sagarin, 7 in Pomeroy

Indiana: 7 in Sagarin, 4 in Pomeroy

Ohio State: 12 in Sagarin, 10 in Pomeroy

Wisconsin: 15 in Sagarin, 12 in Pomeroy

Michigan State: 17 in Sagarin, 16 in Pomeroy

Wow, we’re looking at all six teams having very solid Sweet 16 credentials, with truly any of those squads capable of peaking at the right time and going the distance. The Big Ten in basketball is just like the SEC in football! Except, they don’t have the recent championship domination on their league resume. You can bet tonight’s teams and the rest of the elite are hoping to change that this March.

Is there sports betting value in tonight’s game? JIM HURLEY is saving that information for his clients. But, he will tell you that he believes the key will be Michigan’s mindset. They just lost their first game of the season this past Sunday at Ohio State. Will they bounce back strong as a champion? Or, did that game rock their confidence? We’ve seen often through the years in many sports that top notch teams suffering their first loss of the year are still a bit shell-shocked the next time they take the floor. NETWORK’S sources in the Big Ten have been working hard to get us the right information.

Other games of interest Thursday:

*Florida at Texas A&M on ESPN2, as the best team in the SEC goes to a tough site to face a team that just stunned Kentucky in Lexington.

*Georgia Tech at Duke on ESPN, as the Blue Devils are in the same spot Michigan is in regarding a bounce back after a weekend loss.

*Oregon at USC on ESPNU, with Southern Cal taking the court at home for the first time since their coaching change.

*Miami Heat at LA Lakers, oh…by the way…the two most marquee teams in the NBA square off tonight on TNT!
