Jim Hurley

JIM HURLEY is the founder and president of the most unusual organization in sports wagering.

Created as a small handicapping service back in 1985, Jim's NETWORK has evolved into a nationwide TASK FORCE of, handicappers, scouts, number crunchers, draftniks and former pro players who study and analyze every team and every game to develop BETTER information, make SMARTER picks and win MORE money!

In simple words, Jim's system approach to handicapping picks more winners and makes more money for their customers. And they are able to do this not because they are a one-man band, but because of the "TEAM" approach that utilizes a huge information gathering system to fine tune every selection.

But because they truly are a "Network" and cover the colleges and pros wall-to-wall, they know what's going on inside the locker rooms and dugouts. They know who's hot, who's hurt and who's ready to kick butt. NETWORK’s computer department analyzes upcoming matchups like it was the Dow Jones. They dig beneath surface factors to find out how two teams really compare. Who needs it more? Who's tapped out? Who's out for revenge? NETWORK finds those answers.

So when they run NETWORK'S number up against Vegas', we can immediately spot whether a game is off, and how much, and just cherrypick the contests that are giving us the most points

That's why JIM has racked up twentyone consecutive money making season for his customers.

Now what about YOU? Wouldn't you like to know who the big winners are going to be this week? NETWORK can tell you. Want to make money off that knowledge? Jim's NETWORK can help you there, too.

Want the best shot at the most money? There are dozens of ways to get you there, no matter what your wagering patterns or budget. So, why not get started NOW!

Richie Baccellieri

In case you don't know me, for years people in Vegas knew Richie B as a kind of linesmaker's linesmaker - a kind of numerical purist who, when every other sports book in Vegas was posting Ohio State (-7) over Texas, I was saying... "NO! It ought to be Ohio State (-8)!"

I took a position. I didn't just put up a "betting middle" where I could draw even betting action from both sides. Instead - if I really felt the Buckeyes were stronger than generally thought - I'd put up (-8) or even (-9) and dare the bettors, "Come and get me! Prove me wrong!"

Network Notebook: College TV Preview…Auburn/Alabama

A year ago this weekend, Alabama was the #1 team in the country and seemingly cruising to a berth in the national championship game. Sure, archrival Auburn was going to offer a challenge. But, come on…we’re talking about a Crimson Tide team that would be favored in a title tilt over any other team in the country. They might struggle as favorites of 9.5 to 10 points against Auburn. They weren’t going to lose to Auburn!

Well, we all remember that they did lose to Auburn…and then no-showed the Sugar Bowl in an embarrassing 45-31 loss to Oklahoma.

This year, it’s almost…

How Sharps are Betting NFL Week 13

Three NFL games are in the books now that Thanksgiving Day is behind us. Road underdogs won two of those three outright by big margins, and two of the three stayed Under the posted total. We move now to rest of Lucky Week 13 with Sunday and Monday action.

Here’s how sharps have been betting the games so far. Matchups are presented in rotation order so you can make notes in your schedules.

WASHINGTON AT INDIANAPOLIS: An opener of Indianapolis -9.5 has been tentatively hopping between that number and +10. Colt McCoy will get the start for Washington over RGIII. Sharps who…

How Sharps are Betting Saturday’s College Blockbusters

This is the day college football fans have been waiting for. The highlight is #1 Alabama hosting Auburn in a huge revenge game from last season. Note that it’s been time-changed from the original schedule to prime time. Also on tap, #4 Mississippi State visits Ole Miss in a game that’s been time-changed from evening to mid-afternoon.

I’ve picked out the six biggest TV games for our report today. Let’s see how sharps have been betting the marquee matchups you’ll be watching all day and night. Games are presented in the order they appear in the Nevada rotation.

Kelso’s Advanced Sports Betting: Should “Vegas” Pick Final Four?

In recent days, you’ve been hearing a lot of people in the sports betting industry say that Vegas “experts” should pick the college football Final Four (just like they were saying this past March about seeding the college basketball brackets) because they know the teams better than anyone else. While I agree that myself and other handicappers have to be experts to make a living as sports bettors, what you’re seeing this season is a great reason NOT to have people in Vegas involved in the process.

It’s very hard for outsiders to tell who’s really an “expert.” And, a lot…

Whoever wins the Arizona State/Arizona game Friday afternoon is going to need some help from Stanford. Should UCLA lose to Stanford in a simultaneous kickoff…then the survivor of the duel in the desert will represent the Pac 12 South and face Oregon in the Pac 12 Championship game. Don’t forget that Arizona is the only team to beat Oregon this year! Should UCLA win, then the winner of ASU/Arizona will be a 10-2 team lobbying for an at-large bid to a major bowl.

Bottom line…this is going to be a fun game to watch…it might have big championship or bowl ramifications…and…

How Sharps are Betting Friday’s TV Games

Network Notebook: NFL TV Preview…Seahawks/49ers

Earlier this calendar year, the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers played for the NFC Championship. Seattle won…barely. San Francisco just missed rallying in the final moments. Then, you all remember that Seattle crushed Denver in the Super Bowl. You can make a compelling case that the Seahawks and Niners were the two best teams in the NFL last season.

This season? One or both could miss the playoffs!

Both currently sport 7-4 records, and trail Arizona at 9-2 at the top of the NFC West. Thursday Night’s loser basically has no shot to rally and win the division (unless Arizona loses…

How Sharps are Betting Thanksgiving Football

This is the most excited Las Vegas has been about Thanksgiving football in a while. We have three great matchups in the NFL, followed by dueling prime time college games that will provide a great desert to the day’s feast.

Public betting is historically lighter for the early NFL game because it starts at 9:30 a.m. Las Vegas time…and always involves Detroit (a team that is coming off a long dry spell). Action picks up later in the day when America’s Team takes the field in Dallas. When the networks started adding prime time fare (which now includes the NFL), that…

Everyone hoped it would be important when the schedules first came out this past summer. Now, Thanksgiving Week has arrived and the Philadelphia Eagles/Dallas Cowboys showdown Thursday afternoon isn’t just a rivalry game…it’s a potential divisional championship game matching 8-3 powers. Though, the two teams will meet again in Philadelphia down the road…it’s this meeting that will set the stage for the final month in the championship chase.

Philadelphia has weathered the loss of starting quarterback Nick Foles thus far. Sure, they lost badly at Green Bay. It’s hard for anyone to win there, particularly when the Packers are mostly healthy…

As promised we’re going to run three days of previews for the big Thanksgiving Day NFL slate, beginning with today’s look at the Chicago Bears/Detroit Lions game that kicks off the big day. This longtime rivalry carries added importance this year because Detroit is a playoff contender desperately in need of a win.

Two weeks ago, the Lions were 7-2, trailing only Arizona at the top of the NFC standings. They had a chance to be a #1 seed. But, road losses to Arizona and New England have knocked Detroit well down the ladder. Now they trail Green Bay (8-3) at…

Kelso’s Advanced Sports Betting: Handicapping Turkey Week

Thanksgiving Week football can be very tricky for handicappers because many teams don’t play to their usual form. Some will play their worst games of the season this week because there’s nothing to play for and it’s no fun having to endure another loss around a big family holiday. Some teams will play their best games of the season because they get sky high for a rival, or because they well-positioned to take advantage of a towel-tosser.

And, I must throw in the fact that weather is often an issue on a late-November weekend, which can throw a monkey wrench into…

Wayne Root: How to find Upsets During Thanksgiving Week

Wayne Allyn Root is THE KING OF UPSETS, with more documented upset calls than anyone else in the history of handicapping. So, you know I’ve been combing the Thanksgiving Week card trying to find the best underdog bets. Obviously I’m looking for outright shockers. But, I’ll accept when big dogs “just miss” their upsets, as we saw this past weekend with my PINNACLE plays on Iowa (+) vs. Wisconsin, and the Minnesota Vikings (+) vs. Green Bay. Both were live dogs who were ridiculously disrespected by oddsmakers in their respective situations.

I can assure you that we’ll see many more examples…

Network Notebook: NFL TV Preview…Ravens/Saints

If you can figure out which version of the 2014 New Orleans Saints will show up Monday Night to face the Baltimore Ravens, picking the pointspread winner is going to be a cinch! The team that crushed Green Bay and Carolina a few weeks ago could certainly do that on a historically strong home field against Baltimore. But, this inconsistent group has been a big disappointment more often, as we saw last week in a stunning home loss to Cincinnati.

Baltimore’s basically the same team as Cincinnati right now. The Ravens could win outright as a dog just as comfortably if…

Network Notebook: NFL TV Preview…Cowboys/Giants

For several weeks, the Dallas Cowboys had the look of a champion. They were bullying teams at the point of attack offensively, breaking big plays on the ground and in the air against defenses who couldn’t figure out a workable strategy. The defense wasn’t great on a per-play basis, but had a knack for making plays at the right time to keep opponents out of the end zone. You couldn’t call them a frontrunner to win the Super Bowl. But, they were suddenly very much in the discussion.

Then Tony Romo got hurt. Mistake-prone Brandon Weeden is not going to win…

VSM Exclusive Preview: Miami at Denver on CBS

You couldn’t have even imagined this a few weeks ago. But, if the Miami Dolphins upset the Denver Broncos Sunday afternoon in a game that will be nationally televised by CBS, they would have ahead of Peyton Manning’s crew in the AFC playoff standings!

Denver currently has a one-game lead with a 7-3 record, compared to 6-4 for the Dolphins. A Miami victory would knot the two teams up at 7-4…with Miami holding the tie-breaker because of that head-to-head victory.

Oh…and what a logjam that would create at 7-4 in the AFC as a whole!

For most of this season, it’s been generally assumed the Rex Ryan’s days are numbered as head coach of the New York Jets, while Tom Coughlin has earned enough goodwill with the New York Giants that his job was safe at least during the team’s initial transition to their new West Coast offense.

Is this a playoff preview? Could the Eagles and Packers square off in the NFC Championship game a couple of months down the road?

There are certainly other teams in the discussion. But, you have to admit that things are looking pretty good for the Eagles and Packers.

HOW WILL THE NEW HOT-SHOTS HANDLE THEIR BUSINESS HERE AND THE REST OF 2014?

THE LEAGUE’S TOP 5 MVPs (AS WE SEE IT) AND WE DO HAVE ONE DEFENDER IN THE BUNCH

THE SUNDAY NIGHT PREVIEW: PATS-COLTS GET IT ON!

The Cleveland Browns have not been in the playoffs since 2002 - and they’ve not won a post-season game since the 1994 season (see Cleveland 20, New England 13).Check the here-and-now standings, though, and the Browns are an AFC North-best 6-3.

The Arizona Cardinals have been to one Super Bowl in their history (see 2008 season) and haven’t so far as won a playoff…

Network Notebook: College TV Preview…FSU/Miami

Even though the mainstream media is hyping Mississippi State/Alabama as the game of the day (previewed yesterday here in the NOTEBOOK), it’s actually Saturday Night’s Florida State/Miami game on ABC that has the tighter pointspread…and has the greater chance of inflicting an earth-shattering result on the final brackets.

Florida State’s strength of schedule is so soft compared to other contenders…that they might not make into the brackets as a one-loss team. They would surely drop behind TCU given the caliber of TCU’s loss and a few of their wins. And, there’s nobody left on Florida State’s schedule that’s going to boost…

How Sharps are Betting NFL Week 11

The schedule picks up a bit this week in the NFL. There are four bye teams, which is down from last week’s six. Baltimore, Dallas, Jacksonville, and the NY Jets are off. You’ll recall that Dallas and Jacksonville played in Europe last week. The Jets winning right before the bye may have saved a few jobs.

I’ll run through each matchup in official Nevada rotation order so you can makes notes in your schedules.

HOUSTON AT CLEVELAND: Cleveland has stayed solid on the key number of -3. It tells you a lot about the relative skepticism of the Browns as a playoff…

How Sharps are Betting Saturday’s College Blockbusters

This Saturday’s card isn’t quite as loaded as last week with games influencing the national title race. As more teams fall out of the mix, fewer games will influence the rankings. But, we do have one of the most important games left this season when #1 Mississippi State visits #5 Alabama. And, #2 Florida State is in a real danger spot in prime time at Miami.

I’ve picked out five games to study this weekend, adding in two games that loom very large in the Big 10 race as well as the Auburn/Georgia game that could tell us a lot about…

Network Notebook: College TV Preview…Miss. State/’Bama

Shots were fired this week when the playoff selection committee told Alabama in no uncertain terms that luckily surviving an overtime game at LSU wasn’t going to be enough to keep them in the top four. TCU’s impressive win over Kansas State vaulted the Horned Frogs temporarily in the final spot in the championship brackets. “Hey ‘Bama, impress us” was very clearly the message from the committee.

And that chance to impress comes right away! This Saturday #5 Alabama will host #1 Mississippi State at 3:30 p.m. ET in a game that will be nationally televised by CBS. Certainly THAT would…

You may have noticed that big money starts to hit the football board on UNDERDOGS whenever bad weather is in the forecast. Sometimes the public does win in those games, but over the long haul…weather influences DO favor underdogs.

And, that’s coming to you from THE KING OF UNDERDOGS, WAYNE ALLYN ROOT!

I want to make sure you understand that because weather could often be a factor in both college and pro football from this point…

NFL WEEK 11 QUICKIE PREVIEWS: TONIGHT’S BILLS-DOLPHINS BASH GETS IT ALL STARTED

EXAMINING A BATCH OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL BETTING LINES FOR THIS WEEKEND’S GAMES

Folks, we’ve been saying it for years and years now ...National Football League teams/organizations really blow it by not having top-quality backup quarterbacks on their rosters. And - as everyone knows - more than half of the NFL’s 32 member teams already have been forced to resort to playing a second- (or third-) string quarterback at some point in the year.

Check out the results as we head into…

Kelso’s Advanced Sports Betting: Playoff Distractions

Week 11 of the NFL season kicks off Thursday Night when the Buffalo Bills visit the Miami Dolphins. You’ve already been hearing it…but you can get ready for A LOT MORE talk in the coming weeks about how the playoff picture is shaping up. The media loves stuff like that because it makes so many games seem important. For handicappers, and for many NFL players, it’s just a distraction that can get in the way of performance.

You regular readers know I believe THE MOTIVATION FACTOR is very important in football. We talked about that last time regarding bowl eligibility in…

Network Notebook: NFL TV Preview…Bills/Dolphins

It’s hard to call Thursday Night’s nationally televised NFL game between the Buffalo Bills and the Miami Dolphins a playoff game. Only six teams from the AFC will make it. The Bills and Dolphins are currently tied with San Diego for ninth place. Yet, the race is so tight right now that it’s a virtual playoff game in the sense that the winner will still be alive for a shot at the Super Bowl and the loser becomes a distant longshot.

CHASING THE PLAYOFFS IN THE AFC

6-4: Pittsburgh and Baltimore (tied for seventh)

5-4: Buffalo, Miami, and San Diego (tied for ninth)

That’s…

THE LATEST COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF RANKINGS, THIS WEEK’S HEISMAN TROPHY WATCH LIST AND THE NFL WEEK 11 QUICK-HITTER SPREAD STATS/OBSERVATIONS

So let’s hear it for the College Football Playoff committee folks - we say they got it right by leapfrogging TCU over Alabama for the #4 spot in this week’s rankings and we honestly don’t have a major problem having one-loss Oregon hurdle past unbeaten Florida State for the #2 spot either although that’s pretty much a moot point considering #1 plays #4 and #2 plays #3 in the upcoming playoffs.

Still, there’s…

Network Notebook: NBA Preview…Rockets/T-Wolves

Hey, you know it’s going to be a fiesta when the NBA plays in Mexico City Wednesday night for the Houston Rockets/Minnesota Timberwolves game that will be internationally televised by ESPN. Let’s see if we can make some dinero while we watch!

The Houston Rockets are playing so well out of the gate that many pundits are thinking that losing Jeremy Lin and Chandler Parsons actually made them better! The addition of Trevor Ariza helped make up for those absences. And, you do see a more balanced, functional approach this year with James Harden in full control of the offense, while…
